2025 SHOOT + SERVE PHOTOGRAPHY WORKSHOP
Yes, we'll be shooting at this location!

The Blue Ridge Mountains became my refuge after Hurricane Ian devastated my community. With tourism halted, I started offering "travel sessions" in Asheville, NC. Since then, I've hosted two photography workshops in this beautiful area. I had planned a third workshop before Hurricane Helene struck Western North Carolina, but it didn’t feel right to announce it while many were still in survival mode. That being said, I felt compelled to take action.
Thus, the idea for Shoot + Serve was born. This is a unique opportunity to elevate your photography skills and connect with fellow creatives, while also making a meaningful impact. North Carolina faces a long recovery ahead, and they need our support to rebuild and revive tourism. I hope you'll join me for an unforgettable few days in the Blue Ridge Mountains as we shoot, learn, serve and build life-long friendships.

I highly recommend taking any workshops/retreats that Sarah has to offer. She was super thorough with everything she taught us and everything she put together for the whole weekend. Being a new mom, it’s been so hard to get back out there too, but after the workshop, I was inspired to jump right back into it.

Your ticket includes lodging, breakfast and snacks (Thursday Evening - Sunday Morning) and lunch and dinner on Saturday. Attendees are responsible for lunch and dinner on Thursday and Friday and transportation to/from the Airbnb. Transpiration will be provided during the workshop, however, you are welcome to drive yourself.
The closest airport is Asheville Regional Airport. Less than 10 min. from our Airbnb.
Yes! You are more than welcome to stay at your own home. Please note, there is no discount for staying elsewhere.
How can i get from the airport to the airbnb?
Uber and Lyft are both available in this area. Because the airport is so close to the Airbnb, and I will be providing transportation to and from the shoots, I do not recommend that you rent a car, save your money!
what if I don't know anyone?
I get it, it can be scary and intimidating to attend an event like this. I (Sarah - the most paranoid person in the world) attended my first overnight out-of-town photography event at the age of 25. I didn't know a soul. I flew from Fort Myers, Florida to Palm Springs California, rented a car, roomed with a 47 year old woman I met in the event's Facebook group, and then drove over to the coast and flew out of LAX on Super Bowl Weekend (while the Super Bowl was being hosted in LA). If I can do that, you can do this! Plus you have something I didn't have, a friend (ME!) here to help you the entire way.
Can I Make Payments?
Yes! After the retainer has been paid, the remaining amount can be paid in 4 equal increments. You can also pay in full or with Afterpay if you would like to.
Does this workshop involve hiking?
This workshop does involve moderately difficult hiking - no more than 2 miles round trip. I have hosted in this location before with no issues. Some attendees felt one of the hikes was a little challenging, while others did not. If you don't think you are able to hike at all, I recommend attending one of my other workshops.
Feel free to reach out to me on socials (linked above) with any questions you may have.
I am here for you!
If you are on the fence, don’t be! The most important thing you could do and something I’ve learned directly from Sarah at our time in the workshop, is to invest your time in things that will go far for you. THIS will go far for you if choose for it to!!
