Chasing Creative
Photography + Education
Whether you call Captiva Island, Florida home, you're just visiting family, or on vacation, a golden hour family photoshoot on the beach is something you'll treasure for decades. Beautiful sunsets in Cape Coral, FL are unmatched and create the perfect backdrop and location for your family portraits.
My photoshoots are relaxed and playful. The goal is to capture emotion and connection so that I can produce art (AKA: images) that make you feel something. But don't worry, we won't spend the whole time snuggling. I like to provide a balance of emotive images and fun, lifestyle-based images.
Hey, I'm Sarah! Here to make your family portrait dreams come true!
I live in Cape Coral and shoot all over Southwest Florida. I'm known for my bold, colorful, timeless editing style, and my ability to capture images that tell a story. Because I'm not forcing anyone to smile or pose, my storytelling approach to family photography is relaxed and fun. I like for my clients to play, laugh, snuggle, and explore the beach (or wherever their session is) while I document these moments and give subtle prompts to inspire emotion and connection.
Here's how we'll work together to create your beautiful family portraits.
RESERVE A DATE
After you submit the contact form, you'll receive my easy booking brochure. This covers my photography style and allows you to view my availability and reserve a date. You can also schedule a call with me if you prefer. After your date is booked, you receive my Sanibel/Captiva Photoshoot location guide where you can choose the perfect spot for your portrait session.
PLAN YOUR OUTFITS
Leading up to your photoshoot, I am always available to assist with styling. All clients have access to my client closet and online styling software and can communicate any items they would like to wear for their family photoshoot at the beach (or elsewhere!).
YOUR CAPTIVA, FL PHOTOSHOOT
I’ll send an email with final details the day before. If the weather is unpredictable, I’ll monitor it closely and decide about an hour before the session. Rescheduling is a last resort as Florida’s unpredictable weather often brings stunning sunsets after storms.
GET EXCITED WHILE I EDIT
Turnaround time for my galleries is a few days - two weeks. Once your images are ready, you’ll receive them via an online gallery where you can choose your favorite images. You can also upgrade your package to include more photos if desired.
DOWNLOAD AND PRINT YOUR PHOTOS
After selecting your images, you’ll receive a downloadable zip file and a print release. You can also order prints directly from your gallery.
All clients get access to my client closet full of items for the whole family that can be borrowed for your session FREE of charge – saving you money and making your life so much easier.
Use my styling portal to quickly and easily nail your photoshoot outfits!
Some of my most common shooting locations on Captiva are: Turner Beach, Bowman's Beach, the beach by the Mucky Duck, and Sunset Beach at South Seas Resort.
TIME
When you're on Captiva Island creating cherished family memories, you're on vacation time. No soccer or ballet practice, dinner at your in-laws or big work projects to plan around. When you show up to your session care-free, it shows!
Epic Locations
When you work with an expert family photographer, you're getting access to a world of knowledge. We know the area and what parks and beaches will create the best experience for your family session. With Chasing Creative, you can customize your family photography package by choosing the right location and duration. Our location guide lets you know which beaches have the best water quality and the best view of sunrise and sunset!
preserving memories
We've all been there. We get to the last day of our vacation and realize we don't have a single decent family photo from the trip. We try to prop our phone up or ask a random stranger to take our picture but it's no good. By scheduling time to document your trip, you'll return home with a gallery full of cherished family memories. Every time you look at them, you can almost feel the sea breeze and the sand beneath your toes as you listen to that warm gulf water crash against the shore.
