in-home documentrary photoshoot

We all get caught up and star struck by "grand" things and moments. Like the epic proposal, gender reveal, or wedding. A new shiny car, a flashy outfit, or a jaw-dropping sunset. It is wonderful to document these moments, but life happens primarily in the ordinary.

The peaceful moments when you rock your babies to sleep, the rooms littered with toys. Snack time, bath time, story time. I've always aimed to capture emotion and connection through my images, and I'm excited to take that a step further. In-home documentary sessions are intimate, relaxed, and full of emotion. We'll work together to craft the perfect timeline for your session so that I can capture all the little moments that make your beautiful life.

The Experience

Here's how we'll work together to create your beautiful gallery.

DISCUSS THE DETAILS

Once I receive your contact form submission, I will reach out via email either to start the conversation or to send you a link to my calendar so we can schedule a call. I’ll tell you a little more about my shooting style + how the session will flow and you’ll have the chance to tell me about your family. We’ll also talk through dates, location options and styling.

RESERVE DATE

Following our communication, I’ll send a formal “proposal” which will include all the details for your session, an invoice, and a contract. The retainer must be paid to reserve your date. Once the retainer is paid, your date is locked in. If the retainer is not paid within 24 hours, I will reopen the date.

PLAN YOUR OUTFITS

Leading up to your session, I am always available to assist with styling. All clients have access to my client closet and can communicate any items they would like to wear for their session.

TAKE PICTURES

I always send an email the day before your session with everything you need to know. If weather conditions are poor, I continue to monitor throughout the day of your session and make the final call about an hour before your session. Florida weather is extremely unpredictable, and I have captured some of the most epic sunsets after storms. Rescheduling is always the last-case scenario.

MAKE THE FINAL PAYMENT

After your session, the final payment is due.

GET EXCITED WHILE I EDIT

Turnaround time for my galleries is 1-3 weeks. This completely depends on my workload at the time. Once your gallery is complete, you will receive it via an online gallery software. Next, you'll select the number of images included in your package. You can also upgrade your package and select more images for an additional fee.

DOWNLOAD AND PRINT YOUR IMAGES

Lastly, you will receive a downloadable zip file of the high-resolution images you've selected, along with a print release. You will also have the option to print images straight from the gallery.

Frequently asked questions

Does our house need to be spotless?

Your house does not, by any means, need to be spotless, but it should be "tidy." We'll communicate beforehand to determine what areas of the house we'll be shooting so that you can make sure those spaces are ready. Those areas will need to be ready to go when I arrive.

Does it matter when we shoot?

Because we will primarily be shooting indoors, we have more flexibility when it comes to shoot time. After you've booked your session, we'll talk through your family's daily habits and also look at areas within your home that have good natural light. These things will help us determine when is the best time to shoot.

Can we go outdoors too?

Why is the price different for these sessions v. your regular sessions?

Documentary sessions require significantly more planning (on my part) than my regular sessions. In order to accurately document your family, I need to get to the heart of what makes you special. I also need to study your home and use my expertise to determine what areas contain light that will help tell your story through beautiful, artistic imagery. Most importantly, to allow things to progress at a natural pace, these sessions are longer. I can't capture "all the things" in 30 or even 45 minutes.
