I’m picky about the location when I’m working with a family. To achieve my storytelling style, we need room to roam. Flowers to pick and smell, beautiful light and the ability for me to shoot in any direction so that I can follow the best light. Fall is such a magical time in Sarasota, Florida. After the rainy summer months come to an end, golden hour returns and new flowers bloom. This is the best time to be a Sarasota family photographer!
With so many of our beaches still in major recovery mode, I’ve had to move the location of a lot of my sessions over the past two months. Sometimes this means my clients have to drive a little further (it almost always means I have to drive further lol) but it’s worth it. The location you choose for your session is so important. Many people don’t realize that there are other options in Florida besides the beach!
This beautiful family traveled from the Orlando area and meet me in Sarasota. I was thrilled that they chose this spot. It was a treat to shoot somewhere other than the beach. This location is actually a stormwater facility turned community park. The vibrant greens and rolling hills create elevation and stunning views which are hard to find in our flat state.
Each of my clients receives a location guide after reserving their date. This guide is full of example images and locations they can choose from for their photoshoot. I’m a visual person so it helps me to see pictures from previous sessions. Here are a few of my favorite shots from this one!

I’m always looking for the little things during my sessions. When I saw this little one reach down to dig her tiny fingers into the Earth, I knew I had to capture it.
