Chasing Creative
Photography + Education
Whether you call Venice, Florida home, you're visiting family, or on vacation, a golden hour family photoshoot on the beach is something you'll treasure for decades. Beautiful sunsets in Venice, Florida are unmatched and create the perfect backdrop and location for your family portraits.
My photoshoots are relaxed and playful. The goal is to capture emotion and connection so that I can produce art (AKA: images) that make you feel something. But don't worry, we won't spend the whole time snuggling. I like to provide a balance of emotive images and fun, lifestyle-based images.
I'm Sarah! Here to make your family portrait dreams come true!
I am known for my bold & colorful editing style, and my ability to capture images that tell a story. Because I'm not forcing anyone to smile or pose, my storytelling approach to family photography is relaxed and fun. I like for my clients to play, laugh, snuggle, and explore the beach (or wherever their session is) while I document these moments and give subtle prompts to inspire emotion and connection.
Here's how we'll work together to create your beautiful family portraits.
DISCUSS THE DETAILS
Once I receive your contact form submission, I will reach out via email either to start the conversation or to send you a link to my calendar so we can schedule a call. I’ll tell you a little more about my shooting style + how the photoshoot will flow and you’ll have the chance to tell me about your family. We’ll also talk through dates, location options, and styling for your family portraits.
RESERVE YOUR PHOTOSHOOT DATE
Following our communication, I’ll send a formal “proposal” which will include all the details for your session, an invoice, and a contract. The retainer must be paid to reserve your date. Once the retainer is paid, your photoshoot date is locked in. If the retainer is not paid within 24 hours, I will reopen the date.
PLAN YOUR OUTFITS
Leading up to your photoshoot, I am always available to assist with styling. All clients have access to my client closet and can communicate any items they would like to wear for their family photoshoot at the beach (or elsewhere!).
TAKE PICTURES
I always send an email the day before your photoshoot with everything you need to know. If weather conditions are poor, I continue to monitor throughout the day of your session and make the final call about an hour before your session. Florida weather is extremely unpredictable, and I have captured some of the most epic sunsets after storms. Rescheduling is always the last-case scenario.
GET EXCITED WHILE I EDIT
Turnaround time for my galleries is 1-3 weeks. This completely depends on my workload at the time. Once your gallery is complete, you will receive it via an online gallery software. Next, you'll select the number of images included in your package. You can also upgrade your package and select more images for an additional fee.
DOWNLOAD AND PRINT YOUR PHOTOS
Lastly, you will receive a downloadable zip file of the high-resolution images you've selected, along with a print release. You will also have the option to print images straight from the gallery.
Some of my favorite shooting locations are in Manasota Key and Englewood, Florida are: Stump Pass State Park, Manasota Beach, Englewood Beach, Don Pedro Island State Park and Blind Pass Beach.
Don't worry, I'll send you a location guide complete with example images so you can decide which photoshoot location is best for your family!

preserving memories
We've all been there. We get to the last day of our vacation and realize we don't have a single decent family photo from the trip. We try to prop our phone up or ask a random stranger to take our picture but it's no good. By scheduling time to document your trip, you'll return home with a gallery full of cherished family memories. Every time you look at them, you can almost feel the sea breeze and the sand beneath your toes as you listen to that warm gulf water crash against the shore.
