Florida never ceases to amaze me. Even though it happens often, I am still pleasantly surprised to see a beautiful sunset following an overcast day. The sky showed out for this family visiting from New Mexico and I was so excited to be the Marco Island Family Photographer who got to capture it! The littles had a blast exploring, climbing, splashing and shell-hunting. The session was full of high-energy moments, as well as calm, emotive moments. I love when I get to capture a range of emotions that can be felt when looking at the gallery of images.
Photographing Little Kids
When photographing toddlers, I like to have a minimum of 45 minutes. This allows the session to flow naturally. It’s no secret that littles have a mind of their own. They don’t always like to be held and loved on (especially the two-year-olds). Having more time gives me more chances to capture those brief moments when they return to their mom and dad after exploring. Locations that allow them to roam work best. If we are constrained to a small area, this can cause little ones to get upset. As you know, they want to go exactly where they’re not supposed to, so pick a location like a beach or a big field, where there’s something beautiful in every direction. I’m always here to help if you have questions about locations!
